"MIMA" originally stood for Melbourne Internal Medicine Associates. Now that name is not descriptive enough as we have the finest doctors and staff in Florida in many fields, not just internal medicine.

Our practice has grown since its beginning in 1969 as a group of three internal medicine specialists, Drs. Donovan, Blackburn, and Seelman, into more than 120 physicians working together to provide top quality medical care. Our mission statement, vision statement, and our guiding principles describe a practice philosophy developed over nearly four decades of care for the citizens of Brevard County. Our proudest accomplishment is in the success we've had in bringing physicians to the community that characterize the best in modern American medicine.

Our structure consists of a number of offices housing primary care physicians in locations throughout South Brevard County, supported by subspecialty consultants and diagnostic facilities in convenient larger offices. Our diagnostic capabilities represent the state-of-the-art in current imaging techniques in radiology as well as diagnostic cardiology. We have the area's largest infusion clinic for the administration of outpatient chemotherapy and other injectables.

The MIMA radiation oncology facility, MIMA Cancer Center, is one of the most modern and complete facilities for therapeutic radiation in the world. Our relationships with other physicians in the area allow the efficient use of other facilities as well, including Atlantic Cardiolink, an outpatient cardiac catheterization facility, the Melbourne Same Day Surgery Center, and the Melbourne GI Center.
